As has been said, the colours attempted to give me laser-eye surgery. But apart from that problem, it's a really nice movie full of action, and suchlike. Good music, too.

Quote from amp88 :Yes, I've always found it more fun to drive along on my own on a straight track than to battle against other people on a track with corners.

Then you understand his request.

The dragstrip is quite long as well, but probably not long enough for what you're after.

I've also got it open in WMM... Who will get it finished first?

I wasn't denying your laws, I was just saying that it wouldn't matter whether it was recorded or not. So be it.

Just to clarify, it wasn't totally sneaky recording; the recording is an exact replica of what Dekojester could hear for the whole race. So even if he hadn't had recorded it, he has the circumstantial evidence of having candidly heard what was said.

So, 6 hours of Kyoto GP Long Reverse... Should allow for some slightly more interesting strategies and could produce a surprise result.

What kind of race laptimes are we expecting here?

Does someone keep changing the amount of capital Os in the title? I swear there were only a couple in it earlier...

Who's the voice that appears just at the 28 minute mark of the broadcast? Came out of nowhere!

I absolutely love it Not just because it showcases our nonsense, but because it's clear that you put a massive amount of effort into it. Fantastic!

The quality was amazing, the cutting of the pictures to the music was faultless. I just have no idea how you managed to make a video that looked so good, fit into 107mb file. Stunning!

Is it the same points system for this race (5), or double points? Rules don't specify so I assume it's normal points.

What kind of a crazy fool puts an entire carton of orange juice next to an expensive piece of kit like that?

Damn... The only ones I have are from 1989 and 1983. Imagine how many hands they have passed through, and what else may have passed through all those hands...

Quote from Mackie The Staggie :I thought there was a no camera rule in place....the only person less photogenic than me is Count Dracula.

No worries, I'll do a Google Street View and make sure your face is never revealed in compromising positions. Like when you finish last in one of the races, etc. Or you could just wear your helmet all the time.

I am bringing my video camera for some candid insights into the mentality of the drivers, so you never know what kind of commentary will come from that...

Adamlfs and I will be arriving on Saturday morning. We should, assuming that all trains run to the correct schedule, arrive at the race track with a few minutes to spare.

We're going on the train from Luton Parkway to Kings X, from Kings X to Paddington and from Paddington to Newport. Then it looks as if we will be getting a lift from Newport to the track.

Yeah, fair do's. It was up to the admins and that was the decision that was made for that particular interesting incident.

Quote from imaquad :my thoughts on the incident with 116 and 123. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvv0Gt8J0pI

Now, if you had shown the video in a less biased way; as in at full speed, you will be able to see that it would have been quite hard for 116 to react as 123 went past. It all happened in a split second. That said, 116 should have seen 123 in his mirrors. Maybe he wasn't expecting 123 to keep to that line, or something. It was more 116's fault. Looking at the driving from 123 earlier in the lap, it makes it abundantly clear that 123 was in an aggressive mood; weaving left and right in a strange fashion. That behaviour contributes to the decision that both cars are behaving a little oddly on that lap, therefore making it hard to apportion blame.

Looking around is not just 'the FM way'. It's basic sense. Don't tell me you're the only people on the planet who think that looking around is crucial to racing!

I'd better post my thoughts on the race. I think what really sums up this race is my current facial expression. I'm still smiling even though the race finished more than 15 hours ago and I've had time to sleep on it. I had a lot of fun in the commentary box; what you couldn't hear were the two hidden commentators, CSF and Fuse5. They were constantly telling us ridiculous (and sometimes useful) stuff about the racing that was going on, and insisted that Buck still had a chance to win the race, with 30 laps to go.

The racing itself was exciting. Only 11 actually crossed the finish line but that doesn't really bother me. I think nearly everyone tried their best to stay out of trouble and provide some great action. I know some people have been complaining that they have been taken out of their comfort zone in this race and that the other drivers weren't following the 'FM way' of doing things. Simply, there is no official way of doing an oval race in LFS. It's up to all the drivers to understand who is where. That's it. There's no rules on how to draft. All that is asked is that you drive with foresight and some spatial awareness. I think that the quality of racing can only get better and, if there is a race next year, next year's race will surpass even this one.

That was a bit of a ramble, but hey, I'm still a little tired.

Anyway, an indexed version of the broadcast can be found here under the 'indexed recordings'. It's called 2009Kyoto500
